I feel like this is going to become a constant problem for Nutmeg if she wants to mack on Akashi.
Choice quotes from the GU novels
The plot and characterization is different, and while I personally prefer the game’s story for multiple reasons, the novels’ retelling was still quite enjoyable (except for that last book’s climax which was the absolute worst in the history of The World. Stares at Ovan).
Regardless, quotes regarding Ovan and Haseo are below. Their relationship is pretty… strange… in the novels, even moreso than in the game, but I feel like some sentiments do carry over. Ovan is way more of a trip (and an asshole) as well, but it’s interesting to see a different version! Most quotes are little snippets, but there’s some longer ones as well and are from books 2-4 of the novels by Tatsuya Hamazaki.
Ovan: Haseo… This is goodbye.
Haseo: Wait! I…. I still haven’t found a way to return your feelings!
You’re always like this! You always leave before I can tell you how I feel!
And now you’re leaving me again!
I never understood why Ovan/Haseo isn’t more popular in the West? From the beginning, Haseo seems to have this intense crush on him, and even through most of the games where he’s upset/mad at him, his Ovan boner remains strong.
I gotta say the shooting stars in the background get me everytime.
Watching my favorite guilty pleasure again. touchy-feely bro genesis
Am I the only one that ships Furuya and Eijun the most ;_;
Oh my god, I’ve read too many comments about BBAM with people saying the anime follows the plot of the game totally.
Honestly, I can only imagine everyone who reads that comment and hasn’t played the game runs in the opposite direction…
No, the anime’s plot is much worse. Like… damn, CTR was pretty bad about fleshing out any characters except Ragna, Jin, Noel and Hazama but the anime doesn’t even do that?? It leaves out a lot of things that add to characterization and the construction of the story and ultimately makes you wonder WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE HOW ARE THEY RELATED AND WHY SHOULD I CARE??
So far, it’s not just a bad adaptation, it’s a bad anime.
But who am I kidding? The BBAM is just a marketing ploy and hey, if their marketing plan is to A: appeal to fans by distracting them with a full anime, or B: confuse the fuck out of people who are unfamiliar with the series to make them buy the games to find out, it’s working!
You know your anime is gay when they’re already breaking out the rainbows
I don’t like this manga either BUT ORCELITO IS SO CUTE!! He’s so much more interesting than Belca and his relationship with Kiliko is intriguing. Or at least it was years ago because it’s been quite a while since I dropped it….
